It's been a busy week. Finished the backpacks on the Death Company, so now the unit is all done and ready to ship. The squad has both sets of backpacks with magnets in them. I included a shot of how the magnets were glued in. Very little drilling needed. The 1/8th inch magnets fit snugly into holes that are already in the backpacks... all that I really had to drill out was the body. Remember when magnetizing parts, make sure to get the polarity of the magnets right! Otherwise you will have parts that repel instead of attract.
Next up is the first test model for that big Dwarf army. I've been looking forward to painting this stuff for a while now. I'll be doing one test model for each regiment before I begin the assembly-line painting.
And last up is a Grey Knight test model for another army. Very quick and basic color scheme.

Skaven
Here's what I worked on this week. 90 Skaven Clanrats, 10 giant rats, 2 packmasters and 2 Warpfire Throwers. Start to finish in 4 days... my eyes are a little glazed over still lol so I am taking today off.
Sorry for the bad pictures, they were taken at a game store and I didn't have a light setup. There's a closeup shot of a single clanrat a couple posts back.

Confrontation fig update
I was able to squeeze in a little bit of painting tonight. I got the skin pretty closed to being finished. I also did a small test area on the robe... I'm doing some more of the fabric texture I've done in the past, it always seems to be a big hit. I'll try to include some step-by-step photos next time when I tackle the rest of the fabric.

Confrontation figure
Well, I've been totally burned out with painting for a while now. With a couple rare exceptions, I haven't really painted any figures for myself for at least a year. I decided to try and get a new side project started for myself and dusted off some Rackham blister packs.
The one I chose to start was "Kelzaral The Diabolical", and this is how far I got tonight.
I will be doing a purple glowing effect coming from the ground. I think it makes him look more sinister. The light will be brighter near the bottom of the figure.
Here's the weapon so far. NMM of course ;) Still not sure if I will add any oxidation, dirt or blood to the blade. I'm tempted to keep it clean. This is the side that will be facing away from the light, so I'll be adding the purple reflections to the other side.
If I end up doing some oxidation to the blade I'll include some step by step photos of my process.

"Dwarves... and others of a less-than-savory nature."
Have a few big projects in the works now. Tons of Dwarves (or would that be Dwarfs? I have no idea. Someone does, I'm sure), another 100 clanrats, and more Blood Angels.
Here's a shot of the dwarf army I've been building lately. Still left to build are 40 more warriors, Anvil of Doom, a dozen or more heroes, 2 organ guns, 2 stone throwers, and 1 cannon. There's probably more that I'm forgetting.
Here's a sample model for the batch of rats. I painted a bunch of these guys a couple months ago but never took pictures. Quick, clean paint job.
Lastly onto the Blood Angels. Got the other 5 Death Company figs painted and put the magnets in all 10 of them. Now all that's left are the backpacks.
